Hiking Season Starts at Mt. Mokoto

I just love the view of Lake Kussharo from Mt. Mokoto, and this mountain opens its hiking season on June 2 and 9 (depending on where you’re climbing from).  Mt. Mokoto is the rim of the caldera Lake Kussharo.  It’s only about 1000m – just high enough to enjoy a casual hiking.
